I need a Bluetooth speaker to use along with my laptop in a budget of Rs 6,000.

As much as we'd like to suggest a Bluetooth speaker that ticks all the boxes when it comes to room-filling sound for a class of 50 students, there isn't a single device that meets all the needs in the budget that's been set.
Zebronics Zebstation Dynamite, ZEB-BT013 (Rs 1,450)
This Bluetooth model comes with support for USB playback as well as an Aux (3.5mm) cable that lets you connect any smartphone, laptop or MP3 player via its audio port. Also, its battery is rated to give around 5 hours on a single charge. While it includes an FM tuner, it does not function as well as a radio receiver.
Portronics Sublime 2 Mobile Speaker (Rs 2,400)
While you can't play files directly from a USB pen drive, these speakers can be connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth, and also include a slot to read from microSD (up to 32GB) cards. Additionally, you get an Aux cable in the box. The Sublime 2 comes with a removable battery that's rated for up to 8 hours of playback, an FM tuner for radio, and even includes a microphone to make and receive hands-free calls.
Jabra Solemate Mini (Rs 3,900)
Almost the same size as the ZebStation Dynamite, the Solemate Mini promises around 8 hours of playback on a single charge. Besides Bluetooth connectivity, you also get an Aux cable that sits snugly in the base of these speakers. The Mini has a robust rubberized build, and also has a built-in microphone for hands-free calls.
Osaki Jukebox (Rs 4,000), JBL Flip (Rs 4,900) & JBL Flip 2 (Rs 5,900)
All three similar-sized models support Bluetooth connectivity, include an Aux port, and have a built-in microphone to handle hands-free calls. The Jukebox comes with its own Aux cable, while the Flip 2 supports NFC, which means you can connect it with compatible devices with just a tap. Rechargeable batteries in all these speakers are rated to give you around 6 hours of playback.
The permission by the Union government's department of science and technology will not affect research underway by Mumbai-based Tata Memorial Centre and the Indian Council of Medical Research.
"It is the first time the Indian government is going for a massive evaluation of the health aspects of mobile radiation," said sources in the mobile phone industry. The scientific institutions have been identified for support through a peer review process, primarily based on the competence of the individual researcher(s), their research track record, availability of infrastructure in the researcher's institute, etc.
The focus will be on the impact of EMF-related issues on the human body, including dosimetry (study of radiation absorbed by the body), brain-related effects, biochemical studies, effects on reproduction pattern, comparison of animal and human models, plant system, and remedial measures.
The 16 institutions include the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Bangalore; AIIMS, New Delhi and Uttarakhand; IITs in Kharagpur, New Delhi and Madras; and Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences in Andhra Pradesh.
World Health Organisation, which monitors such studies and releases periodic updates, had said in its October 2014 advisory: "A large number of studies have been performed over the last two decades to assess whether mobile phones pose a potential health risk. To date, no adverse health effects have been established as being caused by mobile phone use."
However, anti-radiation activists fear clusters of cell tower antennae close to residential buildings pose a major threat to health.

Aimed at identifying the problems of the tribal region and finding their solutions through innovations and research, STRC is then to plan projects which will, besides solving the local problems, also create livelihood opportunities for the locals. Speaking to TOI, chairman RGSTC Anil Kakodkar said this would also enhance the programme of education and development of the state government in the district.
Kakodkar was in the city for the valedictory function of 'Avishkar', an inter-university research convention hosted by Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (Mafsu).
The former chairman of the department of atomic energy said though the pace of researchers sending projects to RGSTC had been a bit slow and the quality low, good projects had begun coming in last few years. "In fact we have funded about 65 major projects so far. Out of the ten technologies developed recently, the industry is ready to take four of them soon," said Kakodkar.
At Pandharpur, RGSTC is running a kind of demonstration centre, linking villages to engineering colleges where products are developed with the help of local craftsmen and artisans so that their art is preserved and the process of manufacturing also gets mechanized. It is also helping solve local problems.
Besides asking the universities to submit the proposals to RGSTC, the commission has now started a scheme in which it gives some funds directly to the universities and leaves it on them to fund those projects which they consider research worthy.
At school level, a scheme is being run in which institutions are being asked to conduct research. But for this initially RGSTC funds them. "We give them funds with a condition that the recurring cost of the project is then borne by the institution. This is necessary for maintaining continuity of the scheme," said Kakodkar. Two such centres have come up at Warnanagar and Pravaranagar.
Talking about the nuclear energy programme Kakodkar said to increase the share of nuclear energy in the country's energy sector the implementation of the Nuclear Energy Programme should be hastened. At present it was not moving at the desired pace.

વૈજ્ઞાનિકો દ્વારા સ્મિયર ટેસ્ટમાં ટિસ્યૂનાં સેમ્પલ લઈને સર્વાઇકલ કેન્સરનું નિદાન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. સ્માર્ટફોનના કેમેરાની મદદથી હાઈ ફ્રિક્વન્સીવાળા ઇમેજિંગ ડેટાને રેકોર્ડ કરીને લોહી કે ટિસ્યૂમાં રહેલા એક લાખથી વધુ રક્તકણોની તપાસ કરી શકાશે.
આ સિસ્ટમને ડી-3 તરીકે ઓળખવામાં આવે છે, જેને ડિજિટલ ડિફ્રેક્શન ડાયગ્નોસિસ એવું નામ અપાયું છે. લિમ્ફોમાનાં નિદાન માટે તેનું ટ્રાયલ ટેસ્ટિંગ કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. આનાથી એચઆઈવી, ટીબી તેમજ ઇબોલા જેવા જીવલેણ રોગોનું નિદાન કરી શકાશે.
પ્રાપ્ત માહિતી અનુસાર, આ વ્યક્તિ છથી આઠ અઠવાડિયાથી નિયમિતરૂપે કેન્ડી ક્રશ રમી રહ્યો હતો અને જ્યારે તેનો અંગૂઠો સુન્ન પડી ગયો ત્યારે તેને ડોક્ટર પાસે જવું પડયું. ડોક્ટરે જ્યારે તેનો અંગૂઠો તપાસ્યો ત્યારે તેને જાણ કરવામાં આવી કે તેના અંગૂઠાની સર્જરી કરાવવી પડશે. જે ડોક્ટરોએ તેનો ઇલાજ કર્યો તેમનું કહેવું હતું કે, વીડિયો ગેમ્સથી આંગળીઓની માંસપેશીઓ પર એવી વિપરીત અસર થાય છે કે, તે દર્દને કારણે સુન્ન પડી જાય છે. સતત ગેમ રમનારાઓને તેને કારણે દુખાવાનો અહેસાસ નથી થતો. ગેમ્સની લત એવી હોય છે કે, તેની ચુંગાલમાં ફસાનારી વ્યક્તિને તેનાં શારીરિક દર્દની પણ અસર થતી નથી.
